Morbid Index is an English-language editorial publication covering horror movies, series and games alongside true crime, dark history, mysteries, folklore and paranormal claims.

Our approach

We aim for clear, useful, and humane coverage. Subjects involving violence, loss, and trauma deserve context and care—not spectacle. Reporting distinguishes what is documented from what is alleged, disputed, fictional or part of folklore.

News reports trace announcements to identifiable sources. Trailer pages identify the official uploader and the video's upload date, with a player that loads only when a reader chooses to use it. Lore articles separate what a work establishes from interpretation and from real history.

Every entry is published only when the available sourcing and context meet that standard.

Bylines

Morbid Index uses editorial bylines for contributors, each assigned a consistent subject beat. Articles are researched and reviewed to the standards described in our editorial policy regardless of byline. See the Authors page for each byline's beat.
