How we describe claims

• Verified facts are supported by reliable, attributable documentation.
• Allegations are identified as allegations and attributed to their source.
• Witness claims are presented as accounts, not automatic proof.
• Folklore is identified as cultural tradition, story, or legend.
• Paranormal claims are described as claims and are not represented as established fact.
• Fictional adaptations are separated from the historical events or people that inspired them.

True crime

We will avoid glorifying perpetrators and aim to give appropriate attention to victims, the limits of investigations, and legal status. We will not treat ongoing cases as entertainment or substitute speculation for evidence.

Sources and corrections

Where sources are used, they should be listed or linked in a manner appropriate to the article. We welcome good-faith correction requests and will update material errors transparently.
