Deathgasm II: Goremageddon gets its U.S. theatrical event today.

The sequel to Jason Lei Howden’s 2015 heavy-metal horror comedy is playing select Alamo Drafthouse theaters on September 29, 2026, before moving to digital rental and purchase on October 13. Some theaters also list screenings on nearby dates.

The official Deathgasm II site currently lists the participating Alamo locations and ticket links, while the film’s own project update confirms the October digital rollout.

This is a limited theatrical engagement centered on September 29, not a conventional wide release.

Where Deathgasm II: Goremageddon is playing

The film’s official site lists participating Alamo Drafthouse locations in U.S. markets including:

  • Los Angeles;
  • the San Francisco Bay Area;
  • New York;
  • Chicago;
  • Austin;
  • Dallas-Fort Worth;
  • San Antonio;
  • Boston;
  • Denver;
  • Omaha;
  • Raleigh;
  • the Twin Cities.

The filmmakers advertised September 29 as a one-night event, but the current official theater list includes extra screenings at some locations on September 26, 28 or 30, and October 1. Check the official film site for each theater’s actual date and ticket availability.

The September 29 screenings are being presented through the Fantastic Fest Presents program.

No broader U.S. theatrical run has been announced.

When does Deathgasm II come to digital?

The digital release is scheduled for October 13, 2026.

Raven Banner’s release announcement says the film will be available to rent or buy digitally in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom across major platforms including:

  • Apple TV / iTunes;
  • Prime Video;
  • Google Play;
  • Fandango at Home;
  • Xfinity.

The official film site also displays those digital storefronts.

A subscription-streaming premiere has not been announced.

That means October 13 should be treated as a digital rental/purchase date, not as a Netflix, Shudder or other subscription-streaming launch.

A physical release is also planned

Raven Banner says Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD editions are planned for later in October.

The announced physical formats include:

  • a standard edition;
  • a limited-edition Steelbook.

The official film site currently promotes the physical editions but does not give a precise street date.

Until Raven Banner publishes one, the accurate wording is simply later in October.

What is Deathgasm II: Goremageddon about?

The sequel brings Brodie back years after the events of the original film.

According to the official synopsis, Brodie tries to rebuild his heavy-metal band for a battle-of-the-bands competition and sees it as a chance to win back Medina.

There is one obvious problem: some of his former bandmates are dead.

Brodie’s solution is to return to the black magic of the Black Hymn and raise them.

From there, the sequel returns to the combination that defined the first Deathgasm: heavy metal, occult comedy, splatter and deliberately excessive gore.

The supernatural material belongs to the film’s fiction.

The Black Hymn is not being presented by Morbid Index as a real occult text or historical grimoire.

Who returns from the first movie?

The official film site lists several returning cast members:

  • Milo Cawthorne as Brodie;
  • Kimberley Crossman as Medina;
  • James Blake as Zakk;
  • Sam Berkley as Dion;
  • Daniel Cresswell as Giles.

New cast members include Kieran Charnock, Harrison Keefe, Maggie Robertson and Adam Scherr, the professional wrestler also known as Braun Strowman.

Jason Lei Howden returns as writer and director.

Matt Heafy composed the score

The film’s original music was composed by Matt Heafy of Trivium.

The soundtrack also draws heavily from metal, with recent release material naming bands including GWAR, Sanguisugabogg, Frozen Soul and Alien Weaponry among the artists represented.

That is more than incidental background for this franchise.

The original Deathgasm built its identity around metal culture, and the sequel is explicitly returning to that same mix of music and supernatural splatter.

The movie has already been on the festival circuit

Deathgasm II: Goremageddon is not making its first-ever public appearance on September 29.

It premiered at Fantastic Fest in September 2025 and later screened at multiple genre festivals.

The limited Alamo engagement is part of its commercial U.S. rollout rather than its world premiere.

That distinction matters because some release coverage loosely describes the film as “arriving” or “debuting” now.

The film itself has already been shown publicly.

What is new is its limited Alamo Drafthouse engagement and the approaching home release.

Is there an official trailer?

Yes.

An official Deathgasm II: Goremageddon trailer was released by Umbrella Entertainment in September 2025.

It is not a newly released September 2026 trailer, so current coverage should not describe it as one.

The trailer can still be useful for viewers deciding whether to see the film, but its upload date belongs to the earlier festival campaign.

When can you watch Deathgasm II: Goremageddon?

September 29, 2026: screenings at select Alamo Drafthouse theaters in the United States, with some venues listing additional nearby dates.
